I have an 87 rd686. Heater unit has the round vents. Can your squate vent unit replace it?

This unit should work with minimal alterations to the firewall for the heater hoses to pass through.

I have a 1974R model Mac that I would like to add air condition. Local Mack says they cannot do it because they do not have the mounting hardware for compressor. Do y’all offer Package with mounting hardware for compressor?
This Truck never had air condition

Unfortunately, we do not offer a install kit because many of the compressor mounting brackets are no longer available from Mack. This kit features the main under dash module with heater core, A/C evaporator, controls, electronics, etc...but it does not have the blower motor, ducts, compressor, etc...needed for a full install. This unit just replaces your old or damaged existing heater/ac unit.

does this unit have better output (colder temps and more airflow) than the factory R-model a/c unit?

This unit is the newest design from Redot an has more efficient heater and evaporator cores than the old original units so it should work better however, it still relies on your existing AC Compressor and condenser so it would depend on those components being in good shape or upgraded as well.

It is just the unit that goes under the dash and includes the heater core, A/C evaporator, control panel and electronics but the compressor, mounts and belts are NOT included. This unit should connect to your existing blower fan duct work which is not included either.

These units have rectangle vents due to Mack super-sessions...round vents are no longer available! Can be painted Beige if needed. May require slight firewall modification to accommodate horizontal or vertical heater core piping and expansion valve. R-134A ready! Early model trucks may require an air supply to be added to run the air operated actuators and air powered cowl vent.
